Paris in a Nutshell

The WanderDings have been traveling for two weeks now in France (how has it only been this long since we've left Atlanta??), and so far we have explored Paris, Lake Annecy, Nimes & Montpellier.

It has been pretty much non-stop sightseeing... Of course we hit all the major tourist attractions in France's capital:

-- Climbed almost to the top of the Eiffel tower (704 steps to the second floor, but then you must take an elevator to the summit) & watched the tower light up every hour

-- Climbed to the top of Arc de Triomphe, watching the traffic madness from above

-- Cathedrale de Notre Dame (and climbed towers to the top)

-- Visited the Louvre and saw the Mona Lisa, Milo de Venus, and countless other art and statues that brought chills with each new room we entered

-- Sunset boat ride on the scenic Seine river

-- Toured Montmartre, a bohemian and artistic neighborhood, with their free walking tour (http://cityfreetour.com/ - free but based on tips). Girls were not happy at all with this excursion, but Chad and I found it to be quite informative.. saw where Van Gogh lived & learned the exciting history of several renowned artists.

-- Hung out at the amazing Luxembourg park... lounged and did cartwheels on the thick green grass, played with sailboats, and ran around a playground (which charged 2.50 euro per kid, but was the best 7.50 ever spent!! - they made friends and Chad & I had peace and quiet for a good solid 2 hours!)

So there you have it, our 6-day trip to Paris in a nutshell. Next stop breathtaking Lake Annecy...
